Last night at the 2009 MTV music video awards Lady Gaga performed her hit single Paparazzi to a confused and intrigued audience.

Backed by an elegant facade and surrounded by dancers, Lady Gaga evolved, through dance and song, from a masked figure to a hanging bloody corpse. The performance, while confusing, was beautifully executed.
Like a walking piece of modern art Lady Gaga always manages to push the boundaries of music, performance, and fashion.
